[ Viktoria Jean ] IDS Aesthetics – Cryo Therapeutics Treatment (CTT)
27 October 2021

Two months in since I was first introduced to IDS, my skin’s been noticeably a lot less oily. I used to blot my face a lot, and feel obliged to touch up my makeup by mid-day. On good days now, my skin doesn’t overcompensate with sebum overproduction even in a dry, air-conditioned environment all day. ‘Less is more’ for me when it comes to makeup, so going foundation-less everyday is becoming a dream come true!

I visited IDS Aesthetics again recently, and Dr Michelle recommended a Cryo-Therapeutics Treatment (CTT) facial to soothe and brighten my dull skin. For cell repair, vital ingredients like vitamins and brighteners are also delivered into the skin through iontophoresis, followed by Cryotherapy technology (CryoProbe), to instantly soothe, restore and energize.

In a nutshell, these are benefits of the CTT:

  • Improve skin tone and texture
  • Cellular repair
  • Reduce redness and skin sensitivity
  • Soothe skin irritation

The CTT facial started out with makeup removal and cleansing (since this was end-of-day), followed by a quick exfoliation with a handheld device. Next was the actual painless CTT routine, using a CryoProbe, which actually felt very cool to the touch. A sheet mask is then placed on my face (which I later learnt was the Derma Shield mask by IDS Skincare), and the CTT routine repeated on top of the sheet mask. Very comfortable and soothing after a long day! If you’re concerned about sensitive skin (noticeable if your skin turns blotchy, red and burns easily), a CTT soothes, restores and repairs sensitive skin.

Had a quick consultation with Dr Michelle for a follow-up on my skin condition. She recommended that I go back after a month or so for an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy to reduce my pigmentation and sun-induced dark spots, which I look forward to.

IDS is a premium to regular facial outlets in terms of price, but the quality of service, products and expertise is a differentiating factor. Doctors at IDS can provide clinical evaluation and expert advice which regular beauticians cannot provide, such as identifying the underlying root cause of skin problems, and recommending appropriate clinical skincare procedures and routine.

Many of our routines may be doing us more harm than good, and we may not even realise this. If you have major skin issues that regular facial joints cannot resolve, it is likely that you need a dermatologist to help identify the root of your problem. More often than not, regular skincare joints are not tailoring their services to you skin type, given the range of services provided. Hence I appreciate the expert team at IDS Clinic and IDS Aesthetics for paying attention to my skincare concerns, and addressing them from a medical point of view. There are indeed many different types of treatment at IDS which caters to all skin types!

Take care of your skin and it will take care of you.
